International Student Sculpture School MONTRAKER

Montraker, an international student sculpture school, was founded in 1991, and in 1993 – from the moment students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava joined its activities – it also gained an international character. In the old quarry in Vrsar, over fifteen days during August and September, this sculpture school, together with five students, turns its ideas into stone. In addition to the students, their mentor professors also present sculptures, and professional stonemasons assist them in their work. Montraker brings together a unique educational, cultural and tourism programme in Istria.

During the event, a photo competition and an exhibition of the best photographs are organised, with sculpture in Vrsar as the theme.
