Since 2008, the Zlatni zub Festival of Comedy and Laughter has been flooding the Poreč theatre with laughter that brings together the most diverse audiences. Comedy on the Poreč stage is a proven, most enjoyable source of entertainment and reflection on current reality. While lifting the audience’s morale and mood with witty, surprising and fresh theatrical works, Zlatni zub is one of Poreč’s favourite theatre programs. With the slogan of seriously good humor, this festival offers more than just laughs. Satire, grotesque, irony, parody... All of these are ways for us, through smiles, laughter and mockery, to question our own reality, the life we live and the environment that surrounds us.

Zlatni zub is competitive in nature and rewards the best comedy. The winning performance is decided by the audience’s direct and sincere reaction – applause. The strength of the applause after each performance is measured by the so-called applause meter, and the winner receives the Zlatni zub award. So far, numerous theatres and prominent actors have appeared on the Poreč stage as part of the festival. The festival is also invariably accompanied by other entertaining content, such as concerts in the theatre foyer or themed exhibitions.
