In the Small Gallery of the Open University of Poreč, on Thursday, 9 April, the exhibition by Karlo Bonačić titled Sjećanje krajolika – Memory of the Landscape opens. The exhibition presents a cycle of works that explore the space between what is seen and what is remembered, between the actual landscape and its inner, subjective reconstruction.

Through scenes of the coast, the sea, and settlements, the artist does not depict only visual reality, but also an atmosphere that gradually settles in memory. Bonačić’s landscapes are not strictly geographically defined – they are fragments of experience oscillating between the recognizable and personal perception. The dynamics of the sea, changes in the sky, and subtle colour transitions carry a strong emotional charge, while architectural elements remain a stable anchor within the space of memory.

In this subtle dialogue between space and memory, the image is not perceived as a document of reality, but as a personal interpretation that invites the viewer to inscribe their own experiences and memories into scenes that are at once real and imaginary.

The exhibition is open until 25 April 2026 and can be visited during gallery opening hours from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
