Small Gallery

The Small Gallery, located on the ground floor of the POUP building, has hosted numerous solo and group exhibitions by both local and international artists as part of its annual programme.

The Small Gallery is located on the ground floor of the Poreč Public Open University building (Narodni trg 1), which was built in 1887 as the Giuseppe Verdi Theatre. The theatre has been continuously used for stage and film performances, and the building has been adapted over time to meet the needs of the Public Open University. The gallery was thoroughly renovated in 1988 and has been operating without interruption since then, while the building’s interior was refurbished in 2006.

The exhibition space of the Small Gallery can be divided into two parts: the main exhibition area of 53 m² and an annex of 36 m² which, thanks to the possibility of darkening, can be used as a space for video projections, depending on the needs of the exhibition.
