EXHIBITIONS

The Fine Art Department of the Poreč Public Open College runs three galleries in which it presents to citizens and visitors of Poreč the exhibitions by Croatian and international authors. The galleries include: Small Gallery, Zuccato Gallery and Istrian Assembly Hall. The Poreč Annale  (an annual art event) is considered to be the most outstanding exhibition. It was first organized in 1961. Photodistorzija (a photography exhibition) is the latest biannual multimedia project that is organized simultaneously at several locations, the so-called art zones, within the town.
In cooperation with the Tourist Association of Funtana, the Poreč Public Open College manages the program of the Zgor Murva Gallery specialized in naive and amateur art. The traditional collective exhibition called “Naive Art in Istria” is especially important. It will be opened August 1-20, 2005.
The Open College also runs the Montraker International School of Sculpture for Art Students located in Vrsar, where art students and students of art-related studies acquire the skills and techniques of stone sculpting.
Numerous sculptures made by the participants are collected and presented to the public at the end of the school year at various locations across the town. In doing so the spirit of art transcends the boundaries of the stone quarry.
